Pelee Getaway

We're 3 Km from Point Pelee National Park with its boardwalk, nature centre and it's many birding activities each spring. Our home is a 1960's brick ranch that has been extensively renovated and modernized. Our property backs onto a marshland waterway which is a home to hundreds of species of birds and other wildlife.

We provide a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere with plenty of room to roam.

At Pelee Gateway, we try to minimize our impact on the earth. Some examples of this commitment to sustainability and the environment include:

• Using ecological laundry detergent with no artificial fragrances (ideal for those with sensitive skin)
• Using ecological cleaning products
• Using tree-free, recycled paper products (paper towels, bathroom products, etc.)
• Serving bird-friendly (shade grown), organic and fair-trade coffee
• Being dedicated and avid recyclers
• Composting our vegetable scraps in a backyard composter
• Our lawn and garden are Pesticide-Free Zones!
• Buying much of our fruit and vegetables from local farmers
• Packing lunches for guests in reusable containers
• Providing vegetarian and vegan meals upon request
• Providing bicycles for guests to use so they can reduce their car usage (and appreciate the surroundings at a slower pace!)
